The BE WELL Curriculum (Core Guide)
The Be Well Curriculum
The Be Well Curriculum is a research-backed, heart-forward guide designed to meet Head Start’s mental health and wellness standards, while making the process meaningful, accessible, and inspiring. This comprehensive guide is the foundation of the Be Well Curriculum and is filled with innovative coaching stratagies, thought-provoking reflections, and flexible step-by-step wellness activities for every setting; including classrooms, staff meetings, home visits, and leadership teams.
Rather than feeling like one more thing to do, Be Well invites educators, staff, families, and leaders to work on their wellness at work—and get paid for it. It's a win-win model that recognizes the emotional labor of early childhood education and provides tangible tools to support resilience, emotional intelligence, and connection.
From mindfulness moments to movement practices, emotional check-ins to team-building strategies, this guide brings mental health into the everyday rhythm of Head Start.

Journey To Joy
Happiness isn’t just a feeling—it’s a skill we can teach.
Happiness isn’t just a feeling, it’s also a chemical process. Our brains produce a set of powerful chemicals that influence how we feel, connect, and respond to the world. These are sometimes called the “Big 4” happiness chemicals because of the positive effects they have on our mood, energy, and sense of well-being.Â
When we understand these chemicals, we can intentionally engage in habits and experiences helping us lead more joyful and balanced lives.
Designed with Head Start in mind, this book blends neuroscience, story, and play to help happiness and joy become not just a moment, but a mindset.
Journey to Joy helps children, families, and educators explore the emotional landscape of being human. Using age-appropriate language and accessible tools, this curriculum teaches how thoughts create feelings, how to navigate emotions with confidence, and how to choose empowered thinking, even in hard moments.

The Art of Unwinding: Building a Balanced Life.
For early childhood educators, work isn't just a job, it's a calling, a passion, and a deep
investment in the well-being of children. The bonds formed in the classroom don't disappear when the workday ends. It is easy to carry worries about a student's home life, concerns about behavior, or the weight of a difficult day long after stepping away from your job.Â
Building a Balanced Life is for educators and caregivers who want to find alignment between personal well-being and professional demands. Filled with reflective practices, calming strategies, growth mindset, and actionable tools, this curriculum helps users untangle overwhelm and create rhythms of rest and regulation throughout the day. Whether you’re commuting home or closing a classroom door, this guide makes space for peace, presence, and purpose.
